What to Expect

A Sunday at Christ the King

Our worship follows a pattern Christians have practiced for centuries — a rhythm of gathering, hearing God’s Word, responding in faith, and being sent out in His grace. Here’s what you can expect when you join us on Sunday.

1

Arriving

When you pull into the parking lot, there is plenty of parking on the left and the right. We meet in the first building on the left. Signs and greeters should make it easy to find.

Our greeters will be happy to make sure you get a bulletin, find the restrooms and mother’s room. We have coffee available starting at 10:00 AM.

2

The Worship Service

Our worship follows a historic Christian pattern. We are called to worship, confess our sins and receive God’s assurance of pardon, hear His Word read and preached, and come to the Lord’s Table together.

Worship is something we participate in together, but there is no pressure to know exactly what to do. If you are exploring Christianity or visiting for the first time, you are welcome to watch, listen, and enter in at your own pace.

3

Your Children

Children are welcome in worship at Christ the King. We believe children belong with the gathered church and encourage them to learn the rhythms of worship alongside God’s people.

Beginning in October, children will gather most Sundays from 10:00–10:20 a.m. for Catechism Club while adults meet for coffee and conversation. And don’t worry about the wiggles, whispers, or occasional giggles in worship — children are a joyful part of our church family. For mothers with small children, a mother’s room is available.

4

Afterward

After worship, we fellowship and children play. On the first Sunday of the month we share a fellowship meal after the service.

Elders are available after service for prayer and to answer any questions you may have.

Frequently Asked Questions

Honest Answers to Common Questions

What Is the Lord’s Supper, and May I Take It?

The Lord’s Supper is a sacrament in which Christ nourishes our faith as we receive bread and wine in remembrance of His death. If you have trusted in Christ and are a baptized member in good standing of a gospel-preaching church, you are welcome to receive it.

Read more about what we believe

I’m Not Sure What I Believe. Am I Welcome?

Completely. You don’t have to have everything figured out to come and listen. The gospel is good news for the curious, the doubting, and the weary alike.

What Should I Wear?

Come as you are. You’ll see everything from jackets to jeans. There’s no dress code — we care that you’re here, not what you’re wearing.

Do I Have to Participate?

Not at all. You’re welcome to stand, sit, sing, and pray along — or simply watch and listen. Many people find it helpful to observe the first few times as they become familiar with our worship.

Will My Kids Be Welcome?

Yes. We love having children in the room — wiggles, whispers, and noise included. Ask a greeter and we’ll help you get settled.

How Long Are Services?

Morning worship services are typically 75–90 minutes, while our evening service lasts about 45–60 minutes.

Do I Need to Bring Anything?

No. Just come as you are. Bibles and worship resources are provided, and our service is printed each week to help guide you through worship.

Will I Be Asked to Introduce Myself or Stand Up?

No. We want you to feel welcomed, not put on the spot. A greeter may say hello and answer questions, but you are free to simply come, worship, and get to know us at your own pace.
